Ajay has a great interest in education and has a desire to make something out of himself through further studies. But, his parents aren’t able to afford to send Ajay to school because of their weak income. With the help of NCEF, Ajay has been attending school regularly, and with great appreciation, he hopes that this support will continue.

Anita has had an interest in education since she was a toddler, but her family’s financial situation had prevented her from attending school. With NCEF’s support, Anita’s dream of studying at a Boarding School has come true, and she hopes to continue doing well in school with the continued help.

Anusha lives with her two siblings and her parents. Her father is a Rickshaw puller and her mother is a housewife. With only one person earning money for the family, they are in a very poor financial situation. Anusha also frequently gets sick with diarrhea and flu, making her miss many days of school.

Asharam

The youngest amongst 5 siblings, Asharam Rishidev belongs to a family which has no reliable income and no permanent settlement. Asharam and his family have faced many difficult times in their lives, but with the help of NCEF, Asharam will be able to pursue his interest in education and continue to do well in school.

Bishal

Bishal lives with three older sisters and his parents. His father is a Thela (Rickshaw) Puller and his mother is a housewife. His mother works very hard to make sure that her son gets an education despite their weak financial situation. Their family are untouchables (dalits) which makes it difficult to get a good education. Bishal has to travel 30 minutes to get to his school and is behind in his education. Sometimes he also suffers from colds and fevers.

Dev
Age: 9 years

Dev is a bright student who is eager to learn and loves school. He is at the top of his school. He lives with his two older brothers and his parents. His family struggles financial with only his father earning a living as a Rickshaw puller. His mother is a housewife. Sometimes he suffers from colds and fevers. Dev only lives six minutes from his school.

Dipesh
Age: 8 years

Dipesh's parents ar determined to provide their son with a proper education despite their poor family financial situation. His father is a farm digger and earns very little to support the family. He lives 30 minutes from his school.

Gaurab
Age: 8 years

At home Gaurab has a bad learning environment, nevertheless, the student's performance at school is satisfactory. There is only a small space at home where the family can eat, sleep, and study, which is not a conducive atmosphere for learning. Gaurab lives with three siblings and his parents. As another untouchable family living in a community of dalits, education is not prevalent.

Isha
Age: 9 years

Isha lives 20 minutes away from her school and is the only daughter of her parents. She has a keen interest on continuing her education. However, she often has health problems and her parents do not have enough income to support her further education. With NCEF's help, Isha is hopeful that she will be able to overcome her health problems and do better in her studies this year.

John
Age: 7 years

John's father passed away before he turned 7. Since then, John and his chronically ill mother live with his maternal uncle who is unable to pay for John's education by himself. Without NCEF support, he will not be able to continue his studies.

Laxmi

Since Laxmi’s father passed away, her mother is left alone to take care of herself and her three children. The meager amount of wage that her mother brings in from their farm is only sufficient for food and not for the children’s education. Laxmi however, wants to study further and be a support for her mother in the future, and she can do this with NCEF’s help.

Madan
Age: 14 years

Madan is a very good student and lives with his mother and brother. His mother is the sole person who has been taking care of him and his a brother. The meager amount of income that his mother brings in from her work as a school peon is not enough to support her son's education. Madan is keen on continuing his studies and he can do this with NCEF's support.

Mamata
Age: 11 years

Mamata has always excelled in school, which is 4 km away from her home. Despite her partial scholarship, her father, who is a day laborer,recently pulled her out of school because he can no longer afford to pay for her education beyond sixth grade. With two younger siblings to support and an illiterate mother, she is at high risk of losing her chances at a brighter educated future. Funding from NCEF will ensure that this diligent little girl resumes her studies and completes high school.

Pabitra’s financial condition is very poor, and the income that her parents bring in barely sufficient to feed the family of four. Pabitra , with the help of NCEF, has been regularly attending school and doing well. She and her family hope that the support will continue so that Pabitra can further her studies.

Ranjit

Ranjit has a very difficult situation at home. Due to poor financial condition and bad home environment, He has not been able to excel in his studies. With the support of NCEF, Ranjit is hopeful that he will have extra guidance and will be able to further his studies.

Rita is a member of family of six, who rely on the meager income that the parents bring in. Their financial stance is very poor, and the parents were therefore unable to send Rita to school despite her great interest in education. However, Rita has been attending school because of NCEF’s support, and she hopes to continue on with further studies.

Riya
Age: 10 years

Sunsari, Nepal

Riya is one of the brightest students in her class at her local public school which is 25 minutes walk away from her home. Her parents run a small 'chiya pasal' business (serving chai) that does not generate enough income to cover her educational expenses, which have so far been partially supported by her elderly grand mother. Riya needs your support to finish her schooling successfully.

Sabina

Sabina belongs to an indigenous tribe of Nepal. Landless, marginalized and poor, her family resides in a migrants' slum settlement on government-owned land. The single income from her father's daily labor wages at a local factory can barely support them. Sabina has been able to attend the local public school for the last 3 years with NCEF funding. She will need continued NCEf support for her to continue her studies and excellent performance despite her socially and economically disadvantaged background.

Born in an indigenous tribe and living in a small mud hut on unclaimed government land, little Salina is ready to start kindergarten. However, her debt-strapped family cannot afford to send her to school. Her father earns minimal wages as a seasonal construction worker. Without NCEF support, Salina might never be able to start her education, let alone finish high school. She is in dire need of your help, without which she might fall into the vicious cycle of illiteracy and poverty from which her family is trying to escape.

Salina and her family have faced many economic hardships due to the family’s poor financial condition. The family doesn’t own any property and have no reliable source of income. Salina is in great need of NCEF’s support in order to continue her education, and she’s very thankful to NCEF for the help in the past.

Sanjaya belongs to a large family who depend on their parents’ meager income for their everyday necessities. Sanjaya’s parents can’t afford to send him to school despite his great willingness to further his education. With NCEF’s help, he has been attending school, and he hopes that the support will continue.

Sanjog's has completed his first four years of education with NCEF's assistance. His partially paralyzed father cannot earn enough from running his small'chiya pasal' business (serving chai) to cover Sanjog's educational expenses. Sanjog's elderly grandmother and aunt also depend on his father's meagre income. On top of that, they also have medical bills to pay for his paralysis treatment. Sanjog's school enrollment may be at risk and his educational progress might suffer without sustained NCEF support.

Santosh’s parents struggle financially, and therefore aren’t able to send their three children to school. Even though Santosh has a desire to further his education, his family’s economical stance won’t allow him to attend school. So, NCEF’s help is greatly needed and appreciated by Santosh for his education.

Shalu's parents struggle financially, and have to support four children. Even though Shalu has the interest in furthering her education, her home environment does not allow her to focus on her studies. So, NCEF's help and guidance is greatly needed by Shalu for her better future.

Youngest among three children of his parents, Srawan is a good son and a student. His father a vegetable shopkeeper has been supporting the family. However, Srawan's further education requires more fund and for that he would highly appreciate the support of NCEF.

After Suman’s father passed away, his mother is left alone to take care of her two children. With her unstable job, Suman’s mom is barely able to provide the daily necessities for her children. NCEF’s help will give Suman the chance to attend school and further his education, and will also provide some financial relief to the family.
