Regular Scholarship Program

NCEF provide need-based scholarships to about 100 students each year in Kathmandu, Patan, Sunsari, Sankhuwasabha and Banke districts of Nepal, with intention to expand to other areas in Nepal. As a part of the scholarship, NCEF pays for their academic fees, books and supplies, and other items deemed necessary to complete the school year.

NCEF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (Federal tax payer ID: 51-0424140). Donations to NCEF qualify as tax deductible. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.

NCEF is a project run entirely by volunteers. NCEF has no salaries, compensations, or office expenses.

(It only takes US$ 100 to put a child through one year of school.)

Regular donations are directed entirely towards tuition and school-related expenses such as books and uniforms. However, we acknowledge the importance of exposing young minds to a variety of educational experiences and adventures. If you'd like to donate money earmarked for such an outing, we'd be more than happy to have our volunteers arrange and chaperone the event. In July 2002, we were able to organize an outing to a zoo for eight students and their families with only $18. Read more about this event. If you are interested in sponsoring an event like this, please let us know.

Some other ways to contribute

Do you GoodShop? NCEF will receive donation from your online shopping at no cost to you! When you shop online through GoodShop, the retailers will make adonation to NCEF at no cost to you. Many retailers, including WalMart,Target, Best Buy, Amazon are participating in this program.

ALSO, Now every time you search the Internet using GoodSearch, a penny will be donated to NCEF. You can help change the lives of needy children with a click of a mouse. As of 02/28/2009, GoodSearch has raised $62.46.
