Wishing you Safe Holidays from NCEF!
December 10, 2020
Dear friends:
This has been an unusual and challenging year for all of us with schools shut down and students trying to learn through distance education with very limited resources. But we never lose hope for our children!
We renewed the financial assistance to all our students this year. We have 100+ students and it would have required our volunteers to take too much risk to physically meet the students to collect the applications. Instead, we decided to renew the financial assistance to all our students this year. All the students were selected last year due to their financial need and it is likely all these students and families have much greater needs this year.
We support expanding opportunities to different places and people. All of our supported students are outside of Kathmandu from Eastern Nepal to Western Nepal, and from the plains in the south to the mountains in the north. Among our supported students are students with disabilities, who would have found it difficult to stay in school without our support. Our students come from Sunsari, Nepalgunj, Lamjung, Sankhuwasabha, Nawalparasi, and Gorkha. We are proud to be supporting students all over Nepal.
Our students adapted to COVID19 so they could continue their education. We spoke with some of our students and was glad to hear they are improvising and trying their best to continue their education. The education continues in socially distanced sessions in schools, over radio, TV, online whenever possible, and even in the neighborhoods in the paddy fields. We heard many inspiring stories from our students and volunteers, who worked together to continue the education despite the difficult circumstances. We shared some of these stories with you in our newsletter.
We plan for expanded work next year. We anticipate many more students dropping out of schools next year because many parents have lost their jobs. If circumstances permit, we plan to significantly increase the number of students receiving our financial support for next year.
We rely on your generous financial support to make this work possible. Our goal is to continue providing financial assistance and support to our students until they complete their high school education. Long-term commitment is at the core of our mission.
This holiday season, please consider sending the gift of education to these children in Nepal. You can donate online at http://www.nepalchildren.org/donation.html or send a check to:
Nepalese Children’s Education Fund
PO Box 380061

As long as you mail your check by December 31, 2020, it will count towards donations for tax year 2020. NCEF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and has no salaries or office expenses, so each child benefits directly from your donation.
Wishing you a good holiday season,

From everyone here at NCEF we would like to wish all our donors, volunteers, students, and executives the happiest of holidays this season. It has been our great pleasure to share with you the successes and developments of 2020 with regards to all the hard work done by the NCEF community. Throughout the year, these newsletters have shared exactly the kind of wonderful opportunities made available to our students and their communities. Without the generosity of donors such as yourselves, this amazing work would not be possible. On behalf of our students and the entire NCEF family, we wish you very happy holidays and a wonderful New Year. Thank you for all that you do!
