End of Year Address from Omprakash Gnawali, President NCEF The best of 2013 and what to expect in the coming year.
Omprakash Gnawali, President NCEF
Dear friends:
It is our pleasure to share with you the highlights of our work from 2013.
We are now providing financial assistance and regular visits to 81 students in ten different locations in Nepal. Seven of these locations are outside of Kathmandu. Thus our work stays true to our commitment to help students in every part of Nepal, especially those far away from the capital city, complete high school education.
Seventy percent of our students are girls. Thus, we are able to achieve our goal of helping children who are at a social and economic disadvantage, especially girls.
Beyond the numbers, we are happy to report that most of our students are
taking full advantage of access to schools and doing well in them. Some students have even completed the NCEF program. Take Mimisa as an example. A few years ago, she was not able to pay the registration fee of NRs. 400 (US $4) and had almost dropped out. Our volunteers recommended her for financial assistance and kept in touch with her for the next few years. She completed her 12th grade this year.
In July of this year, we received a letter from our student Sabina, who recently completed her high school. The letter contains a poem that serves as a reminder that there are still many students in Nepal who need our help. Even a small contribution that you make to NCEF for the education of these children can have a life-long impact on their lives.

We hope that you find her story inspiring and that the outcome justifies the trust you have given us in the past.
This holiday season, please consider sending a gift of education to Sabina and students like her. You can donate online or send a check. NCEF has no salaries or office expenses, so the children will benefit directly from your donation.
I wish you a good holiday season.
Sincerely,
Omprakash Gnawali

This year, we’ve brought you news from volunteers, donors, students, and now the President of NCEF himself. Without your contributions, children like Sabina and the other 66 children supported by NCEF would be out of school with severely limited options in life. These amazing opportunities for the children of Nepal are possible thanks to the generosity of donors such as yourself.
This holiday season, we would like to wish you very happy holidays and a wonderful New Year from everyone here at NCEF. Thank you for all that you do!
