Pramila
Age: 12 years
Grade: 4
School: Pragati Sikshya Sadan Secondary School,
Lalitpur, Nepal
|
|
Pramila's father earns $28 per month as a driver, barely enough to
feed a family of four. Pramila's parents cannot afford school
supplies and were often unable to pay school fees. Teachers noticed
that Pramila sometimes came to school hungry; once, she fainted
during
morning assembly because she had not eaten. Yet even though her
parents are uneducated and extremely poor, Pramila was the top
student
in her class last year. Now supported by NCEF, Pramila is in the
fourth grade and will continue to build her education and her hopes
for a better future.
