Gender: Male Age: 12 years Grade: 4 School: Jana Prabhat Secondary School Shyam Thapa is a bright 17 year old who has received aid from NCEF in the past. The family wouldn’t have been able to support his education as his father works as a farmer and his mother is a housewife. He appreciates what NCEF has done for him, and hopes to receive the same support in the future.
Ojima
Gender: Female Age: 13 years Grade: 10 School: Vishwo Niketan Higher Secondary School Ojima has been able to continue her studies because of the support from NCEF. However, since the support was only for the educational supplies, she still had to work as a maid in order to have enough money to pay the tuition bill. Because of the hard work involved, she was not able to concentrate too much in her studies. NCEF is now supporting her even for her tuition and she is able to give more time to her study.

Ujeli
Gender: Female Age: 13 years Grade: 5 School: Jana Prabhat Secondary School Kathmandu, Nepal Ujeli lives in the squatters. area of Kalimati with her mother Sunita and her three brothers. Her mother's occupation as a fruit vendor is the family's only source of income and provides only about $20 per month - barely enough to survive.
